My computer screen goes black then does not want to start.  After performing a hard restart, I get a blue screen with a "CMOS Checksum invalid"   checksum.jpg

 

I already updated the bios.  What can I do to resolve this?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "CMOS checksum is invalid" error. 

 

Let's try these steps - 

 

1) Shutdown the computer. 
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears. 
3) Press F10 once for BIOS. 
4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults. 
5) Press F10 to save and exit. 
 

Also, try updating the BIOS. Refer to this document for steps - HP Consumer Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)
