What is the best CPU and GPU that I can put into my Compaq 8000 Elite for maybe some games?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Tough question to answer.

 

Your PC has a Legacy BIOS. This BIOS limitation prevents installing newer graphics cards.

 

You are limited to Nvidia 600 series or lower series graphics cards.

 

The PSU may be a HP proprietary part. This means you may be limited to a 320 watt power supply.

 

The CPU and power supply upgrade options can be reviewed at this HP Support site (Link).

 

Gaming options depend on the above components. Check this site (Link) to see component requirements for specific games.
