Hi:
With some of the 1st gen i5 and i7 processors, you have to install a graphics card.
The 1st generation i7's quad cores can't use the onboard Intel graphics.
Here is a link to a HP business desktop with a similar chipset as your model.
See the processor upgrade info below starting on page 6, and the processors with 4 cores require a discrete graphics adapter. Each one shows if it can use the onboard Intel graphics or requires a video card.

As far as suggested graphics cards are concerned, unfortunately, I can't tell you what specific ones will work.
I do know that any nVidia GT 7xx video card or newer will not work because your PC has a legacy BIOS.
You might want to try a nVidia GT 210, or an AMD Radeon HD 6450.

Yes, the I7-860 works perfect after installing the PCI-E graphics card. Its a little tricky, first off
you must update BIOS to latest of course before you even start. Then in BIOS, set from Onboard to PCI-E
Install your new I7 cpu and see if you get video on the PCI card...if not, connect to the onboard DVI or VGA
and then get into Win7, device manager and disable the onboard graphics device. Shutdown, pull the power cord,
remove the graphics card and re-insert. Then re-check the bios settings to set to PCI-E. Turn on and video should
be correct to screen on the PCI graphics card. When in Win7, load the software for the new graphics card, all should
be fine.
Hope this helps, its worth it

Hi, I have the same model of PC and see that you have 4 X 4GB memory. My PC has 3 X 2GB and is trying to upgrade to 4 X 4GB but has a hell of time getting this to work. I read many others has the same problem but no one has a solution. Memory ram tested where PC would not boot up:
Kingston KCP313NS84CA 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Non ECC
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Non ECC
Can you let me know what type of ram you have and are the rams on both side of each stick of SDIMM?
Much appreciated!
