CRITICAL ESCALATION REQUEST: LEVEL 3 / FIRMWARE ENGINEERING
PRODUCT: OMEN 45L GT22-0465xt (33T58AA)
MOTHERBOARD: BlizzardOC (SSID 8917)
CURRENT BIOS: Factory-Locked F.81

 

ISSUE SUMMARY:
Intel is replacing my crashing i9-14900K processor under warranty and has legally mandated a firmware update to microcode 0x12F (or newer Vmin Shift mitigation) BEFORE installing the replacement silicon.

 

THE ROADBLOCK:
1. HP's public site only offers SP172758 (BIOS F.58).
2. The HP BIOS utility throws a permanent platform mismatch error and grays out the update option because the system is on the F.8x branch fork. It is impossible to flash F.58 over F.81.
3. BIOS F.81 only contains outdated CPUID B0671 microcode 0x11E.

 

REQUESTED ACTION:
Please escalate this case to the Desktop BIOS/Firmware Team to provision the correct, unlisted F.8x sequence successor package (or an engineered custom payload) containing the required Intel B0671 microcode 0x12F+ for SSID 8917. Standard Tier-1 troubleshooting (OS reinstall/CMOS reset) cannot resolve an architecture branch fork block.
