My camera driver is not in my device manager anymore, it used to be there when I clicked show hidden devices on the device manager but it's grey and faint meaning it doesn't work, one of the procedures from this HP article said to uninstall it since it will just reappear when I restart but it never came back even though I clicked scan for hardware changes. I tried to download it from the official HP support site, but they don't even have it there. And no, it doesn't appear when you click "show hidden devices" anymore this time. It's just straight up gone.
I'm panicking because the online classes here in my country starts in a few days, and this is my only device with a decent camera, so getting my driver back is very important for me, any help to get it back would be much appreciated.
PS: Here are the solutions I've already tried (I've been working on this for a few weeks by myself), and a few notes:
- I've tried the "EnableFrameServerMode" on the registry editor since that's what a lot of youtube videos suggest too. Didn't work.
- Error code is 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAttached> and just so I don't miss anything, it showed me <WindowShowFailed> one time too, but it's mostly <NoCamerasAttached>.
- My laptop does not have a privacy camera switch or cover, you just need to open the app and that's usually does it.
- I know it's not a hardware issue because I can see that the built-in camera is very much still intact, and my laptop isn't exposed to harsh conditions / injuries.
- I've tried resetting the camera app and the whole laptop itself, and still nothing.
