My camera has stopped working.
Its one that flicks up at the top of the screen to turn on.
However, when its up, the camera gets removed from windows device manager
When its down, it gets re-added to windows device manager, and is therefore un-usable.
It needs to be told again to recognise the on-off position of the camera
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Paul

Was the camera working before?
When it was pushed down did it disappear from the device manager?
If you run the camera app is the image of the inside of the case? Shine a flashlight down into the enclosure and see if anything shows up on the screen. My best guess is that the device should never disappear from the device manager whether it is up or down.
It is possible there is an "open" in the cable and pushing down shorts the broken cable together. Alternately, the switch mechanism failed. There is a video here on how to remove the camera (I didnt watch it and there may be better ones)

You might take the camera out and look for any defects in enclosure, switch and wiring. I do not have an AIO so post a picture of the parts and wiring so I can look at it. If you can get it to work leave it up (out) and just use a piece of cardboard and tape to block off the camera if concerned about someone spying.
Try this: With the camera down and the device showing up in the device manager, select it and delete it. Then push the camera so it pops up. At the device manger click at the top node and run "scan for changes" and see if the camera is found.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
The camera was working perfectly, but Windows was thinking its off when the slider is up, and on when the slider is down.
Tried all the add/remove/scan for hardware changes etc in Device Manager to no avail.
Every time I pull up the slider to reveal the camera, it would disappear from device manager, and only show in there when pushing the slider back down (device manager would then add it back every time I did this)
I removed the back of the slider to try to see if there was anything obvious re. connections, but all looks ok.
Now however, the camera doesnt get picked up at all by windows now. Not even when the slider has been pushed down.
Looks like there's a hardware issue with the camera, which is typical, as I'm only a month or so over warranty.
