Can not access my HP desktop

When I turned on my desktop, I got the following message:

Boot Devise Not Found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

Hard Disk - (3F0)

F2 - System Diagnostics

How do I solve this issue.  I really my files on desktop

Sorry to see this problem.

I would start the PC, tap "ESC", then select "F2".

Now run System Tests. The HDD or SSD may have failed.

Let the forum know results after running HP diagnostics.

You may have to replace the storage device. I hope you have backed up data. It may be possible to recover data from this drive if it is failing. We may be able to recover data if the drive is failing. No guarantees.

Hi, as suggested, pressed F2 to test memory and hard drive check.  Passed memory but failed hard drive check.  Reads as follow:

Smart check:  Passed

Long DST:  Failed

Hi,

You will have to replace the HDD. You may have to reinstall the operating system (OS). I don't what OS you are using.

I don't know what size HDD you have now as you have not provided your PC's product number. 

I would look at buying a 2.5 inch SATA SSD of 500 GB capacity or higher. The SSD will improve performance.

Data may be recoverable. It depends on the condition of the failing HDD.

You could connect the failing drive to a different PC to see if you can access the HDD.

There is a very good chance you may not be able to recover data from the bad HDD.
