OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-0000i (3Y5U6AV)

Hello, I own a Omen 25L desktop (GT15-0000i) and recently the SSD that came pre-installed has now degraded to the point where I am getting warning notifications in the event viewer, I also can't launch certain applications like Steam without the system crashing and getting a BSOD error.

I tried doing a few things like SFC scan, and DISM health check etc in the command line but they couldn't find any faults, but clearly something ain't right. Here is a quick overview of what I have tried:

- M.2 SSD is failing and crashes constantly, this drive has the OS installed.

- I tried doing fresh install on new SSD, but windows install wizard cannot detect any drives.

- Found out that it had something to do with Intel RST, downloaded it, extracted it and pasted on to a USB so I could 'load drivers' during windows installation.

- Windows installer is still unable to detect any drives, including the USB with the drivers.

- Another solution was to go into BIOS and change RAID to AHCI, but there is no option to do so, apparently newer gaming desktops should be auto configured with AHCI anyway.

- Dead end...

At this point I don't care about the old SSD and just want to replace it and do a fresh install, however I can't get past the first part of the installation wizard as It is unable to detect any disk drives / flash drives (not even the C: drive). Apparently it has to do with some drivers I need to install (IRST) but I can't install those drivers as my system is unable to detect the USB with said drivers on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am out of ideas.

Hi:

See if the IRST drivers I zipped up and attached below work:

The attached file is good for both W10 & W11.

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W10/W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next and hopefully, Windows should find the drive and install.

Just tried it and it worked so thank you for the help. Where did you get the drivers from? they aren't the same as the ones I got from the HP website.

You're very welcome.

I used 7-Zip to extract the F6 driver folder out of the IRST driver file on the Intel website.
