Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I updated my BIOS to HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Familt SSID 8848) and now Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge won't open when I click on them.

@ShonRT -- I doubt that there is any correlation between the BIOS Update and your software issue.

Check that Windows Update is *NOT* in the middle of an update. It is is, it disables the launching of some programs. Wait until Windows Update tells you to restart, and then restart.

Also, uninstall Chrome, and use Microsoft Edge. Since January 2020, both web-browsers are based on the same open-source "Chromium" project. So, I find no problem accessing web-sites that claim to "require Chrome".
