I have been using my HP Omen 16 laptop for a while now running Windows 11, and when I tried to use it this morning I found that I got an error when I tried to turn on my computer. A stack-based buffer overload with the log on, now my PC will not turn on and just keeps trying to restart. I can't even go into recovery mode. My Preliminary research suggests doing an in-place upgrade, although I've been having some difficulties getting that to work. I can still access my bios and boot media, so a complete OS overwrite and reinstall is possible, but I was hoping to save my files if possible. Just wondering if there were any known solutions.

Greetings @CompleteVoice9
Welcome to the HP Forum.
A buffer overflow could be a memory problem (hardware) or a Windows problem.
Please provide the specific Windows blue screen error message you are seeing. This info would be very helpful.
You can check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows to verify your PC's hardware is okay.
Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.
Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.
Let the Forum know how it goes.
