Product: Slimline Desktop 270-p033w
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The HP Slimline Desktop, 270-p033w, came with Windows 10 Home installed.

 

I have an installers key for Pro, but on using the original Windows 10 Pro DVD I'm not prompted to select between Home or Pro, nor for the key.
When the OS is finally installed it installs Home by default, and not allowing me to enter the key for Pro to upgrade.

 

Assistance appreciated.

Hi:

 

You cannot clean install W10 Pro, because your PC has a W10 Home product key in the BIOS.

 

The version of the product key in the BIOS trumps any other key you have, and that is the version of W10 you get after clean installing W10.

 

See this guide for how to convert W10 Home to W10 Pro...read the info under the Upgrade using a Windows 10 Pro product key section.
