Hey there, I have an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz but it won't charge. Does that my laptop is damaged or?

If your HP Laptop PC 15s with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor is not charging, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

 

Check the Power Adapter:

  • Ensure that the power adapter is properly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Make sure the power outlet is working. You can try plugging in another device to confirm.

Inspect the Charging Cable:

  • Examine the charging cable for any visible damage, such as frayed wires or bent connectors. If you find any issues, you may need to replace the cable.

Verify the Power Jack:

  • Check the power jack on your laptop for any damage. If it's loose or broken, you may need to have it repaired.

Battery Issues:

  • If the battery is completely drained, it might take some time for the charging process to begin. Leave the laptop connected to the power source for at least 30 minutes and see if it starts charging.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve charging issues. Shut down your laptop, disconnect the power adapter, wait for a few seconds, and then restart the laptop with the power adapter connected.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your laptop's battery and power-related drivers are up to date. You can check for driver updates through the Device Manager.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check if there's a BIOS/UEFI update available for your laptop. Sometimes, firmware updates can address power-related issues.

Try a Different Outlet:

  • Connect your laptop to a different power outlet to eliminate the possibility of an issue with the current outlet.

Test with Another Charger:

  • If possible, try using another compatible charger to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with the charger or the laptop.
