I have a laptop that I get a Choose your keyboard layout and then goes into a troubleshooting option page.   None of the advanced methods work

Greetings @Wrathchild71

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The keyboard layout prompt usually happens during initial setup. Is this happening out of nowhere?

Have you tried using a system restore point in Advanced Options from the troubleshooting screen? A reset option (not recommended) also exists. But you would lose all data stored on the system drive if you did a reset.

I would guess you have a hardware problem or Windows is corrupted beyond repair if nothing works in the WinRE.

Check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem. Run extensive tests.

Let the Forum know how this goes.

Regards
