Try these steps:

1. Restart the System

  • Restart the Computer: Sometimes simply restarting the computer can resolve many issues.
    1. Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off.
    2. Wait for a few seconds, then turn the computer back on.

2. Check for Pending Updates

  • Ensure that Chrome OS is up to date: If the update did not complete correctly, it might cause issues.
    1. Connect the computer to the internet.
    2. Click the status area, where your account picture is.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. In the left pane, click About Chrome OS.
    5. Click Check for updates and let the system update if there are any pending updates.

3. Clear Cache and Reset Settings

Clear the Cache: Sometimes, corrupted cache can cause issues.

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click More (three dots or three lines).
  3. Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
  4. Choose a time range and select Cache and Cookies.
  5. Click Clear data.

Reset Chrome Settings: This will reset your Chrome settings without affecting your data.

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click More.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Scroll down and click Advanced.
  5. Click Restore settings to their original defaults.
  6. Confirm by clicking Reset settings.

4. Powerwash (Factory Reset)

  • Perform a Factory Reset: This will erase all local data, so ensure you back up any important files.
    1. Click the status area, where your account picture is.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. In the left pane, click Advanced.
    4. Click Reset settings.
    5. Click Powerwash > Restart.
    6. In the box that appears, click Powerwash > Continue.

I hope this helps.
