Have power settings set at 1 hour for Screen and 1 hour for monitor (HP 1730). After about 2 minutes the monitor will go off and windows will log out. You have to log back in if you walk away for more than two minutes.

Set your Windows "screen-saver" to 'none', instead of the current settings, that specifies "two minutes" and "require login".

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
I don't work for HP.
System drivers usually cause this problem.
Run Windows Update to check for drivers.
When did this problem start? You may have updated W10 to version 1803.
This problem is usually caused by problematic system drivers (USB, graphics, network, Bluetooth).

It is on Win 10 ver 1803. The problem started before update, has been doing it for a while. Thursday I decided to do a reset not a wipe clean us windows. Problem not solved. I am thinking it is a problem with the registery but not sure. Does a windows reset wipe out the registery.

Hi goforce,
A W10 reset will install W10 clean. You would start over with a clean registry.
A reset gives you the option to keep data files.
You could try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults.
Or remove and swap in a new CR2032 motherboard battery to reset CMOS.
This problem seems to be an issue where the operating system is not communicating with the MB.
