Computer freezes/lags when I change between apps/windows.

HP ProBook 450 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC (4D3X4AV)

My laptop completely slows down when changing between windows/apps - beyond annoying.

For Example:

When using Photoshop, just simply dragging and dropping from my folder to Photoshop, everything freezes (often see "Not Responding"). Eventually the images open and as long as I don't minimize or change between programs it works lightning fast. So I end up just dragging all 30 images into Photoshop and edit from there without ever changing windows otherwise it will lag.

Another example; if I just delete one file, even a Word Doc or tiny pic, it takes at least 1 minute to delete to the recycle bin. If I "Shift Delete" it works instantly.

Clearly not a RAM problem. What could it be? A OS bug? Nothing makes sense as to why this happens.

It is beyond annoying, the laptop was brilliant the first month, but this last month it has just started doing this. I have checked updates/viruses etc.

Please help - slows down my work drasticallly.
