Hi @IR_19,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP 15-f2000 laptop might be stuck during an update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Wait a Bit Longer: Sometimes updates can take longer than expected. If you haven't already, give it a bit more time to see if it progresses.

Force Restart: If it seems completely stuck, you can force a restart. Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop shuts down. Wait a few moments, then turn it back on.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Turn off the laptop by holding the power button.
  • Turn it back on and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8 on some models) to enter Advanced Boot Options.
  • Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
  • If you can get into Safe Mode, you might be able to complete the update or roll it back.

Check for Updates: Once you get back to the home screen, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Windows Update and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues.

System Restore: If you have a restore point created before the update, you can use it to revert the system back to a previous state:

  • Boot into Safe Mode.
  • Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore and follow the prompts.

Recovery Options: If none of the above steps work, you might need to perform a system reset or reinstall Windows:

  • Boot from a Windows installation media (USB or DVD) and select Repair your computer to access advanced recovery options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
