My desktop has been doing things on its own. It has deleted files I know where saved through Word/on drive (memory stick). On its own has saved items that I cannot open up or delete saying I need to be the administrator (which I am) on a drive. I go to delete a item it deletes it then when I go back into the drive the deleted item is back. I have ran virus scans everything is fine no threats, did the obvious turn off turn back on, reboot etc...help!!!

Hi, let's see if this fix will work
First, please perform a hard reset. Once that is complete, please follow the steps in these documents:
HP PCs - Removing and Preventing Viruses on Your Computer
HP Notebook PCs - Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting
If the document did not help you resolve the issue, try restoring the BIOS and then check for windows updates. For more specific information please provide your product model using this link "Find my Product".
Thank you, I look forward to your response with the outcome.

I don't think so unless you do a complete reinstall that is when the files are erased. The hard reset will only be for rebooting purposes.
You can do a hard reset by following these steps:
- Press and hold the power button on the front of the computer for approximately 5 seconds. The computer will shut off. No lights should be near the power button. If lights are still on, you can unplug the power cord to the computer tower.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Push the power button to turn the computer on again.
