HP Slim Desktop PC S01-pF2000i (4M0H6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Good morning,  We have a slim HP Desktop (Edited) and a few days ago it suddenly froze when my husband tried to log on for work.  Nothing would work/very slow, I looked at troubleshooting and it suggested trying to reset the computer - i have tried this and every time I just get a message saying 'we could not reset this computer no changes have been made'

We purchased this from curry's business centre and was told the item is just out of warranty - it was purchased in October 2024.  We spent a lot of money on this and for it to just stop working for little over a year is unacceptable - we have 3 of these computers so have spent an awful lot of money for my husbands business - do we have any options to get this working again or get it replaced? I would expect a computer which cost over £500 to last a good 8years or more not just over 1 year!!

Hi @Hayz77,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your HP Desktop, and it's not performing as expected. There are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps for HP Desktop

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected.
  • Make sure the power source is stable, and the power cord is not damaged.

Restart in Safe Mode:

  • Try booting your computer in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. Safe Mode boots the computer with a minimal set of drivers and can help identify if background programs are causing the issue.

Check for Software Updates:

  • If you can boot into Windows, check for any pending updates. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to see if updates are available.

System Restore:

  • If possible, try performing a System Restore to revert the computer to a point when it was working fine. Access System Restore through Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection> System Restore.

HP Recovery Manager:

  • HP desktops often come with HP Recovery Manager. If you have access to it, you can try using it to restore the system to factory settings, which might help if other methods fail.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
