According to the specs, your HP Slimline Desktop - 290-p0016ns (5QR69EA) is fitted with an i5-8400.

 

You can upgrade your desktop with any non-"K" 8th and 9th gen Intel Core processors, such as the i7-8700 and i7-9700.

 

Looking here amongst HP System Slim Desktop 290-p0xxx Users, some desktops have been fitted with "T" processors, such as the i7-8700T, meaning, these processors draw less power (35-watt TDP) comparted with standard processors -such as the i7-8700 which has a 65-watt TDP.
