Example: Pavilion 590
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP Pavillion 590, approximately 3 years old, running WIN10. Boots into BLUE screen with error message: "Boot device not found. Please install operating system". Tried booting while pressing F11, nothing happens. Will boot into "Set-Up" menu with F10. Please help.

There should be a HDD test in the BIOS (F10). Run that & let us know what it says.

Could be one of the following:

1. Windows boot partition has been deleted

2. Boot mode in BIOS has changed (Was UEFI, ACHI or Legacy, now has changed)

3. Faulty SATA cable, controller on mainboard or HDD

I believe the diagnostics are F2 -- and they won't tell you about any partitioning problems as they are only checking the health of the sectors on the drive.
