Recently purchased an All-in-One pc and when it is in the sleep mode for a long period of time, the only way I can wake it up is to turn it off and back on. There must be another way to wake it up.

Hi @JoeNB,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your All-in-One PC won't wake up from deep sleep, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Power Settings
Adjust Sleep Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
- Under Sleep, adjust the time settings to prevent it from going into deep sleep.
Change Advanced Power Settings:
- In the same menu, click on Additional power settings.
- Select your power plan and click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Sleep and make sure Sleep after and Allow hybrid sleep are set to your preference.
2. Update Drivers
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button).
- Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics driver, and select Update driver.
Update All Drivers:
- Consider checking for updates for other drivers, especially those related to power management and chipset.
3. Disable Fast Startup
- Turn Off Fast Startup:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup and save the changes.
4. Check Wake Timers
- Enable Wake Timers:
- In the Power Options, under your selected plan, go to Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Sleep, then Allow wake timers, and set it to Enable.
5. Check Device Settings
Allow Devices to Wake the Computer:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters, right-click your network adapter, select Properties, and go to the Power Management tab.
- Check Allow this device to wake the computer.
Check Other Devices:
- Do the same for any other devices that may support wake functionality (e.g., USB devices).
6. BIOS/UEFI Settings
- Check Wake Settings:
- Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings during boot (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Delete).
- Look for any power management settings that might affect sleep and wake functionality and ensure they are enabled.
7. Perform System Updates
- Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any available updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
