Hi @shun19w
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That’s frustrating! Let’s get your HP computer back up and running. If your cursor is missing and the system is frozen, try these steps:
Restart Your Computer
- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force a shutdown.
- Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
Check for External Mouse Issues
- If using a USB mouse, unplug it and try a different port.
- If using a wireless mouse, replace the batteries or reconnect it.
Enable the Touchpad (If Using a Laptop)
- Press Fn + F7 (or another function key with a touchpad icon) to enable it.
- If that doesn’t work, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure it’s enabled.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Press Win + R, type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic, and hit Enter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix issues.
Update Mouse & Touchpad Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Press Win + X, then select Device Manager).
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices, right-click your mouse/touchpad, and select Update driver.
