HP Envy 700-327C
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Believe it's 64 bit but not sure, if that makes a difference. It is Windows10

Contents of Recovery drive (D) appear to be ALL of the files that are on drive C except the Desktop info plus a section marked or named "Recovery". Is that the way it's supposed to be?

The reason I ask is that I saw a question in a HP Support forum stating "Recovery  Drive Full - New HP Envy Windows 10" and the answer was - "If your Recovery drive is showing as having a drive letter, that could be the source of the problem as there may be a default download setting (like in a Browser you are using) that is writing its temp files to that drive , instead of the OS drive." Then the there were instructions about going into Disk Management to see if the Recovery volume has a drive letter (D) and if it does, how to erase it.

My Recovery drive -D - isn't full; it shows 1.89GB free of 15.4GB - (I'm not sure what it showed when the PC was put into operation) and, as stated above, has all the files that are on drive C except Desktop. When I go to Disk Management the Recovery volume does show Drive letter D. So do I erase it or not? Should Drive D contents replicate whats on the C drive as described. Will erasing "D" in Disk Mgmt create problems?

Thanks for yoour help

@OPAMA, welcome to the forum.

The 😧 partition is for the Recovery files only.  There should be no other data on it.  However, with that said, if you made the Recovery media when you bought the computer and are positive that it works, you can delete the 😧 partition.  I normally leave it just to be safe.  The best solution to your problem is, check to see which drive is being targeted when you are saving  data.  Also, you can delete any data that is the same as on the C: drive.
