Hi

This may be or seem a really silly question however I will ask anyway! 😁 I have just got my computer back having had a problem with the hard drive, which ended up being replaced. Over the last couple of days I have been reloading the apps that were lost. Yesterday afternoon on my home screen several icons appeared of which 16 appear to be DLL files and the others native manifest files.

I have never seen this on a home screen before and wondered if they can be safely deleted / removed from the home screen or will doing so cause me further problems?

Many thanks Dave.

@Talman1 -- whatever app that you installed that caused the items to appear should properly be "uninstalled", which should delete those items.  Then, reinstall the app, checking to ensure that the installer will install to a "temporary" folder, not to your "Desktop" folder.

Simply deleting those files will mess-up your computer. Do not try this "manual" procedure.

Hi

Thanks for the advice. The files seem to be linked to Onedrive not sure where they came from or what app they could be linked to! I reinstalled Photoshop a couple of days ago and also Affinity the only app I reinstalled yesterday was Macafee. Those 3 apps all are working as they should!

Best wishes Dave.

Hi

Thank you very much for your help! I found the offending app uninstalled it and saved it in a folder and the DLL files have all disappeared from my home screen!
