Hi,
my PC recently got couple of DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSOD error. It usually takes place when I turn the PC on or off. I upgraded the PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11 with hope that it would help but, unfortunately, it didn't. I checked crash dump files and it doesn't show anything particular to me or, perhaps, I simply don't know how to troubleshoot it.
Here's what WhoCrashed prompted (it's in spoiler):
Crash dump directories:
C:\WINDOWS
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump
On Sat 23.10.2021 11:49:14 your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\102321-11906-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: amdgpio2.sys (amdgpio2+0x280e)
Bugcheck code: 0x133 (0x1, 0x1E00, 0xFFFFF80580305330, 0x0)
Error: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\amdgpio2.sys
product: AMD GPIO Controller Driver
company: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc
description: AMD GPIO Controller Driver
Bug check description: The DPC watchdog detected a prolonged run time at an IRQL of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above. This could be caused by either a non-responding driver or non-responding hardware. This bug check can also occur because of overheated CPUs (thermal issue).
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: amdgpio2.sys (AMD GPIO Controller Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc).
Google query: amdgpio2.sys Advanced Micro Devices, Inc DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

The following dump files were found but could not be read. These files may be corrupted:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\102321-11421-01.dmp
C:\WINDOWS\LiveKernelReports\PdcLockWatchdog-20211021-2321.dmp
=========================================================================================
It clearly shows the problem with amdgpio, but whenever I try to update the driver either by Windows Update or downloading them through the AMD's website, it also crashes, showing the same BSOD error.
PC's spec:
AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics (Vega 😎
RAM: 8GB 3200Mhz
OS: Windows 11 Home
Thanks in advance 🙂
