Default dp 1.1 setting to 1.2

How to  change default settings on 750-650xt  envy from display port 1.1 to 1.2,  do I have to change settings on Control Settings & gtx 1060 graphics card  or just the graphics card?    Thanks   Shaun 4949  (Novice)

Hi Shaun, thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY 750-150xt series desktop PC. I read that you would like to change the default settings from display port 1.1. to 1.2. And would like to know if you can do this from the Control Panel or the graphics card.

Please refer to this HP document to know how to change display settings in Win10. Hope this answers your question. 

As per the specifications of the GEFORCE GTX 1060 card, it has DP 1.4 port

Thanks MKazi:   I guess then I'll make the change to 1.2 on the gtx 1060 graphics card  & the monitor.  I guess w/ Windows 10, I'll just make sure the resolution in correct.   Would you know if the HP ENVY-750-650xt display port has a default 1.1?  I'm getting the computer this week.   Appreciate your quick response.    Thanks   Lawrence

The display port would depend on the graphics card and are not inbuilt on the motherboard.

Moreover, is it an HP ENVY-750-650xt or the HP ENVY Desktop - 750-150xt PC? Because I can pull up the information for the latter one. Please click here to view the possible hardware configurations for the HP ENVY 750-150xt Desktop PC.

As per the product specifications, it shows that the following video cards could be used with the HP ENVY Desktop - 750-150xt customized PC.

Must select one of the following options:

• Intel Integrated Graphics

• NVIDIA GTX 745 (DDR3) (4 GB)

• AMD Radeon R9 370 (GDDR5) (2 GB)

• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (GDDR5) (2 GB)

• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti (GDDR5) (6 GB)

The following table shows the difference in the display ports:
