I bought this product (HP Pavillion All in One PC 27-ca10000i from Currys, however within 6 weeks of use the entire unit stopped working (no power on, only a very nnoisy fan when trying to boot up). As there were no other units in stock at Currys I was advised to contact HP sirectly to have the unit collected and repaired/replaced. The unit was collected on the 17th Februarty and has been on hold ever since due to component shortage. The agentson the support line, depste being polite, are only able to give me suggested time frames but with no certainity on holw long the delays will take. Tyhe latest date given is the 3rd March, although this is only a projected time and could take alot longer.
I bought this unit (at full price) to complete a Mastes degree and without it I am unable to to complete the assignemnts or research. Thesupport staff are unable or unwilling to advise me just how long they can keep the unit before I am able to get a replacement or refund. At the point of collection I weas advised 3 - 4 days, this has clearly been exceeded and continues to be delayed.
My question is, what are my rights in regards to having a replacement or refund, or even a stand in computer that I can use in the interim period. The communication and support have so far been very lacking and the impact that it is having on my studies is significant.
When nvesting £1300 I was expecting significantly better service especially from such a reputable company.
thank you for any advise on what steps I can take to speed this process along or have a refund to enable me to purchase another computer.

I do not work for HP or have any association with them other than this forum.
But - most times a warranty item will be repaired or replaced with a refurb unit. Very rarely will they refund or replace with new.
Since it is in the repair chain already, I would expect there is nothing you can do. Either buy a different PC, rent one or borrow one from a friend.
You can get a used one for now and then resell after you are satisfied with how HP handles the situation. Or just get another new one and go on with your schooling. It could be a long time, sorry.
Since Curry's turned you down, I would make sure they (if you decide to buy another) will take any other PC you might buy, if there is a problem with it.
I'm not an HP employee.
