Good luck! Read through the section on using Recovery Media to be familiar with the screens you will see.

After a 13 hour night shift I sat in front of the PC for 3 hours this morning but it worked and I am able to use the thing again. Thank you

You're very welcome. Happy to hear you are back up and running. I'm still puzzled over why the update messed with your account. Did you have a password for your logon?

Yes I did. What I found interesting is that as the backup was happening I could see files under my username being saved to the backup but the recovery system even said there are no admin accounts found on this computer. Obviously I am not computer literate so I have no idea what any of that means I just found it interesting to see files under my user name being saved to the back up.

Hi

Good to see you got your PC running.

I have to admit I thought you may have acquired this PC illegally. I thought you were looking for a way to gain access to the PC.

Sorry about that!

Grzy

No worries man. I 100% ordered it built with what I thought I wanted from HP.com. I really regret waiting so long to set it up but nothing I can do about that now. I just hope my problems with it are done.

I honestly have had very little chance to even use it because it's been crashing and burning every time it updates. The first time completely wiped the hard drive out, that time tech support sent me recovery discs, the second time it updated both admin accounts were gone. The warranty expired and HP wanted $$ to help me fix it but I was so angry with how awful this pc has been I refused to pay it and the pc sat for months essentially unused. I tried posting here about my problems but did not receive any help, maybe because others thought I didn't purchase the pc legitimately? At any rate thanks again to all for the help and I sure hope it remains functional because I know so little about computers.
