I did a complete new install of Windows 7 Pro. After Windows updated, (some failed) that same night my computer started turning on by itself in the middle of the night. I've researched this over and over and have disabled ALL features and programs that have "wake up computer" options. This includes the Bios, WAN wake up, etc. I did a restore system and that didn't work. I reinstalled Windows 7 again, and the same issue happens. I have my PC to "shut down" when I'm done. Not sleep or hibernate.
I've turned off the "Magic Packets" feature as well. I'm at a loss at what else to try. I've done the CMD to find "wake ups" and the results always come back 0. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!!!

Greetings,
Welcome back to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Try the troubleshooting steps at this site (Link).
Method four should give you devices that may be causing the system to wake.
Audio and network devices are typical culprits. Old drivers can also cause this problem.

Method 4 is only showing my keyboard and mouse able to wake up my computer. These are turned off when my computer shuts done, (It is set that way when I shut down computer), so I'm back trying to figure out what may be causing this. Nothing shows up in Task Scheduler either, as far as being close to the time the computer comes on at night. Again, the computer comes on at various times at night, and sometimes very early in the morning. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You!!!

Hi IrishMac1,
That is really strange.
Your PC is off. Wake On LAN is not enabled in the BIOS.
Have you reset the BIOS to defaults? Or tried resetting CMOS?
Your PC's power supply is always providing some power to the motherboard because this power supply does not have an on/off switch.
Your PC's power switch may be sending a power on signal to the motherboard.
The only other thing I can think of would be malware.
Have you checked network activity when the PC starts by itself? Try a free network scanner to see if and what your PC is connecting to when the PC starts by itself.
