God afternoon! I have an HP Omen by Obelisk Desktop 875-0014, came with Win10 in 2020, subsequently upgraded to Win11. I was looking to activate the XMP profile of my RAM and a bit of OC, but it isn't an option in the current BIOS version (84FD motherboard, FW version AMI F.26, 5/28/2020). I need to update the BIOS, so I looked (using HP Assistant) but HP's site only supports my pc for Win10, not Win11! So no updated BIOS available. The computer is running okay, a bit of glitching here and there under heavy use.
There are a few updates for my BIOS, but they all show Windows 10, not Windows 11. Can I still update to the newer versions? There are 3 update versions showing - F.26, F.27, and F.35. Can I go straight to the version F.35 or do I have to install them one at a time? I definitely don't want to brick the motherboard!
I appreciate any help! Thank you.

Hi @Agilabs,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Since your HP Omen by Obelisk Desktop 875-0014 is not officially supported for Windows 11, you should use the Windows 10 versions of BIOS updates. While it's tempting to update to the latest version (F.35), it's recommended to install the updates in order, starting from F.26 to F.27, then F.35, to ensure a safe upgrade process.
Using the Windows 10 BIOS versions for now is the best approach until further updates are made available for Windows 11 compatibility.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thank you, I will give this a try and report back.
Just curious, if this computer isn't supported for Windows 11, why did MS send notifications that this computer IS compatible with Windows 11 and continues to receive Windows 11 updates? What part is not supported?
Thanks!

Hi @Agilabs,
I understand how confusing and frustrating it can be to receive mixed signals about Windows 11 compatibility, especially when Microsoft notifies you that your system is compatible and provides updates.
Key Points:
Compatibility Notifications: Microsoft often pushes notifications to devices it detects meet the basic hardware requirements for Windows 11, such as a supported processor, TPM 2.0, and adequate RAM and storage. However, some older or borderline systems may not fully align with the stricter hardware compatibility list Microsoft has established.
Possible Unsupported Parts:
- Processor: Even if your computer runs Windows 11, the CPU might not be on Microsoft's officially supported list, meaning it could work but isn't guaranteed for full compatibility in every scenario.
- Drivers: Some components, like older graphics cards, network adapters, or other hardware, might lack optimized drivers for Windows 11. This could lead to issues down the line.
- Firmware Support: TPM (Trusted Platform Module) or secure boot might be technically present but not functioning optimally due to outdated firmware or BIOS.
Why Updates Still Arrive: If the OS is installed, Microsoft generally continues to provide updates for security and functionality, even on unsupported systems. However, unsupported devices may not receive updates as reliably or consistently as supported ones, and certain features might not function as intended.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Agilabs,
I understand your concern regarding BIOS updates for Windows 11, especially in light of Microsoft's evolving support policies. HP provides BIOS updates based on specific device models rather than the operating system version. Therefore, if a BIOS update is available for your HP device, it should be compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11, provided your hardware meets the necessary requirements.
Currently, we do not have specific information regarding when HP will release BIOS updates tailored exclusively for Windows 11, especially in light of Microsoft's discontinuation of support for Windows 10.
For the latest updates, we recommend checking the HP Customer Support website regularly, where you can enter your device model to access any available updates.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
