I spent $1500 on this computer and HP can't make it work properly.  Shameful!  The computer's desktop window manager is sucking up a huge amount of memory.  Earlier today 655MB!  Currently 721 MB!

I've read the problem is related to the 630 audio system.  I've download all the updates and still the problem continues.

Any idea what is going on?

PS The options for the "board" are insufficient.  Why can't HP get it's act together?

Does your computer have 8192 MB  (8 GB) of RAM? 16,384 MB (16 GB) of RAM?

Immediately after restarting Windows, is it still as large as 721 MB?

Do you have many files & folders accessible on your Windows "desktop" ?  Move them into your "Documents" folder, restart, and measure again.

I have 16 MB of RAM.

Earlier today, the Desktop Windows Manager was using more than 1,000 MB of memory.

I have quite a few files on the desktop, nothing outrageous.  This has never been a problem in the past.

I removed the Intel System Usage Report and this helped a bit.

After restarting the computer, the desktop windows manager is about 40 MB, than then gradually gets larger and larger.

More Info,

I earlier removed the Intel Usage Report...and it's back.  How do you kill off this app forever?

Thanks,
