Hi @Whitneydiva
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Please provide a specific HP Product Number so the Forum can review your PC's specs.
Slow PC performance can be caused by the following:
1. The PC's component profile or failing components,
2. Extremely high: CPU, memory, or system drive activity. And a lot of running processes,
3. A saturated system drive close to it's capacity limit and/or excessive amounts of junk and temp files,
4. Malware, which also relates to item 2 on this list.
I would like to see your PC's specs before making any suggestions to improve system performance.
You could check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:
Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.
Select "F2". Run system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem. Run extensive tests.
