Hi @Offs3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion All-In-One PC 27 is freezing randomly and failing to complete extensive tests, you might want to try the following troubleshooting steps.
Check for Software Issues:
- Update Drivers: Ensure all drivers, especially graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date.
- Update BIOS: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your system and apply it if necessary.
- Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using a reputable antivirus program.
Perform Hardware Diagnostics:
- Run HP Hardware Diagnostics: Since extensive tests aren't completing, try running the diagnostic tool again, but make sure to use the latest version of HP Support Assistant.
- Check Hardware Connections: Ensure all internal components (RAM, SSD/HDD, etc.) are securely connected. Sometimes loose connections can cause issues.
Monitor System Temperatures:
- Check for Overheating: Use a temperature monitoring tool to check if your system is overheating. Overheating can cause random freezes.
Examine Event Viewer:
- Look for Errors: Open Event Viewer (search for it in Windows) and check for any critical errors or warnings that might give you more information about the freezes.
Perform a Clean Boot:
- Isolate the Issue: Perform a clean boot to see if a background process or startup program is causing the issue. This helps isolate whether third-party software is contributing to the problem.
Check Power Supply:
- Inspect the Power Supply: Ensure that the power supply is providing stable power and that there are no issues with the power connections.
Consider Hardware Testing:
- Run Memory Test: Use Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86 to test your RAM for errors.
- Check Storage Health: Use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check the health of your SSD/HDD.
Factory Reset (if needed):
- Backup and Reset: If all else fails, consider backing up your data and performing a factory reset to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
