Hello!
I'm trying to install Ubuntu alongside Win11 x64 so that I can switch between both OSs with a reboot.
The problem is that the Ubuntu installer requires me to disable RST. I searched all over UEFI and haven't found a relevant option.
So how can I turn RST off?
Images of my UEFI for clarity:
Important note: in my case, the storage controller mode is set to AHCI
and yet the installer is still not happy:

I figured it out on my own 🙂
It's in BIOS -> Advanced tab -> System Options. Need to uncheck Configure Storage Controller for Intel Optane.
In my case, the entire dual boot setup took several stages. Disabling RST was just one of them.
Here's my full experience, which may help owners of the similar hardware:
0) Know the key to enter the BIOS Setup. Mine is F10.
I) Follow the Optane Disable Warning instructions (pic below). It will appear in Stage III, but it's meant to be done beforehand.
II) Disable BitLocker.
III) Disable RST.
- In step 4, go to Advanced tab -> System Options -> uncheck Configure Storage Controller for Intel Optane. You'll see the warning I mentioned in Stage I -> press Confirm.
IV) Create the installation media and install the system (guide). You can choose default Ubuntu or one of its flavors.
After that, you should see the GRUB boot screen every time you start your computer.
Here's mine:
But if it doesn't show up, fix it. I had this issue and only Method 4 helped me.
