My display settings wont come up on my screen

If your display settings are not opening on your HP desktop running Windows 11, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Try Opening Display Settings Manually

• Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
• Or press Windows key + I to open Settings, then go to System > Display.

If this doesn’t work or the window doesn’t appear:

Restart Windows Explorer

Sometimes the Settings UI fails to load due to a glitch in Windows Explorer.

• Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
• Find Windows Explorer, right-click it, and choose Restart.

Run System File Checker

Corrupted system files may prevent settings from opening.

• Open Command Prompt as Administrator (search for “cmd”, right-click > Run as administrator).
• Type:sfc /scannow
• Press Enter and wait for the scan to complete.

Check for Windows Updates

• Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
• Install any pending updates and restart your PC.

Create a New User Profile

If the issue is profile-specific, try creating a new user account:

• Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users.
• Click Add account and follow the prompts.
• Log in with the new account and check if display settings open.
