DisplayPort not working...

This desktop (running Win 10 Pro 64 bit) has both VGA and DisplayPort.  VGA works, DisplayPort doesn't seem to (although the Dell Display software) seems to know it's there.  The display with the DisplayPort is using a known-good DisplayPort cable (works to my laptop).  I've tried restarts and power disconnects on the monitor and the desktop as well as validating that display drivers are current.  The dell monitor is a recently purchased P2723QE with very good resolution, though for this desktop I'd take anything just to have two monitors going.

EDIT/UPDATE:

It's working now.  The fix seems to have been doing a minor / optional Windows 10 update, though I'm surprised it fixed..  As I mentioned I'd already checked the display drivers.  It doesn't do the absolute max resolution possible on the monitor (4K UHD) but I expected that given the age of the desktop.  I am experiencing some sync / recognition issues when KVM-switching between another machine and this one, but I've proven to myself that the DisplayPort and VGA ports can both work at once to have an extended desktop on two monitors.
