With Fast Startup (FSU) 'Off' the time to sign-in is about 30 seconds. The 'HP Sure Start' (HPSS) splash screen accounts for maybe 5 seconds of this time.

With FSU 'On' the time to sign-in is only 13.5 seconds. The HPSS splash screen does not appear so does this mean HPSS has not run or just that the splash screen message has not had time to display?

Could this mean that it is not a good idea (security wise) to turn FSU 'On' when HPSS is enabled in the BIOS? Maybe someone can confirm this please? I can't find anything definitive on the internet so thought I would ask the HP experts here.

It would be good if some HP expert could say FSU does not bypass HPSS and it's okay to have FSU 'On' or am I wanting my cake and eat it?

It would be nice to reduce time to sign-in from 30 seconds to 14 seconds but it is not crucial so security comes before time-saving.
