Drive D was not recognized the last time I started my computer. It shows up in my quick access at ? D:/ and not at all under this PC. When I try and access a program installed on drive D the message is " the drive or network connection that the shortcut refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again. "

What is your computer system?
Is the D an optical drive? a hard drive? an M.2 ssd or a flash drive?
Does the drive shows up in the File Explorer?
Is there a shortcut you are clicking on to run the app?
Occasionally when I start a game I get a message the D drive is missing. It wants me to put the CD back in to prove I bought the game and didn't copy it.
