I’m trying to install windows 10 on the hard drive of my computer. The installation fails; says it needs a driver(s). i’ve downloaded all the drivers from HP onto a flash drive, but the installer doesn’t recognize/find it. All the drivers are .exe files. What needs to be done so that the installer will find them?

W10 should not need any additional drivers to find the hard drive in your PC, so I don't know what the problem could be, other than the Intel storage controller driver can't be in an exe format.
I recommend that you try a different approach to reinstall Windows: The HP Cloud recovery tool.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter the PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
