I have no keyboard/mouse when building Elitedesk 705 G3 SFF with W7
Processor is AMD Pro A6-8570 so should support W7 according to http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=4095872&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c05...
Steps I have used are.
1. Used 'MS Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool' to create bootable W7 setup USB stick from W7 iso.
2. Used 'HP Softpaq Download Manager' to download W7 drivers.
3. Used DISM to successfully install all downloaded W7 drivers, inc keyboard/mouse, into boot.wim and install.wim.
4. Set BIOS Secure Boot Configuration to 'Legacy Support Enable and Secure Boot Disable'.
Install reaches point to select language and I have no keyboard or mouse.
Run out of ideas, any help appreciated.

Hi, @Mike8_HP-User :
I see from the specs that the 705 G3 has PS/2 ports, correct?
If so, use a PS/2 KB and mouse to install W7.
Your PC has the same issue as the ones with the Intel skylake chipsets.
No USB 3 driver support in the W7 installation media, no USB 2 support until after W7 is installed and the chipset drivers installed.
Intel has developed a tool to put the Intel drivers into the W7 USB installation media, but I don't believe AMD has followed suit.
But the easy solution is to use a PS/2 KB and mouse if the PC has PS/2 ports.

See the "accepted answer" to: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Can-not-install-windows-7-on-new...
Yours is the "common" problem when one tries to install a copy of Windows 7 onto hardware designed for Windows 10.
Note that Microsoft's support for Windows 7 ends in January 2020 -- less than 3 years from now.
At that time, you will need to install Windows 10, and it could be a lot of effort to "migrate" your data-files and application programs from Windows 7.
So, I recommend that you install the "factory-supplied" Windows 10 now, rather than later.

Hi Paul, you are right, it does have PS2 keyboard and mouse ports. Can't believe I didn't see them. I will build and add drivers using PnPUtil. Thanks.
(Still not sure why it wouldn't install as I'd added the drivers to the wims)
