When I try to install Virtual Machine Platform (via Turn Windows Features on or off), during the restart to finish installation I go into automatic recovery, whereby the changes have to be undone in order to reboot.
win 11 pro x64
fresh install of windows
latest bios and drivers
no conflicting virtual machine software
virtualization enabled in BIOS
tried secure boot on and off
'turn on virtualization based security' disabled in group policy editor
tried enabling hyper-v (same result - changes have to be undone on restart)
tried: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto (won't restart unless I boot into safe mode and set it to off)
Also posted on Microsoft community but I'm thinking this issue is specific this HP pc so thought I'd try here.
Thanks,
Robin.
