I have added extra memory to my computer, 64 Gigs, but its not accessing it. I have checked and the model I have does support that much memory. I was told the BIOS is to blame, how do I fix this?
TIA

You may have mixed memory types that are incompatible.
Can you boot with the new memory only?
The parts list for your system shows memory part number 798034-001
798034-001 HP 8GB PC4-17000 DDR4-2133MHz non-ECC Unbuffered CL15 288-Pin DIMM 1.2V Dual Rank Memory Module |
some system builds are custom and might have different memory. Please run the following command from the windows command prompt. Do it for both the old and the new memory assuming you can boot with the new memory. Alternately, make a note of the part numbers printed on the memory and post them here.
wmic memorychip get devicelocator, capacity, speed, MemoryType, formfactor, partnumber, manufacturer
for example

There is another possibility but I am guessing. It actually happened to me. I had four 16gb sticks that were XMP qualified and another pair that was not XMP. Windows saw only the ones that were XMP. I went into the bios and disabled the XMP and windows then used all 6 of the sticks.
I ended up removing the pair that were not XMP to make the system run faster. It was stuck at 2133 speed when using all 6 memory sticks.

I am going to try both suggestions I have received. I'm not sure about XMP on the 16 gb sticks, I will have to look at them. If that doesnt work then I will remove the two 8gb and try to boot with the 16gb sticks.
Thanks for the suggestions.

You might be better off looking over at at reddit or discord where "mods" and use of non-oem memory is cussed and discussed. Even facebook has an HP Envy forum.
To give you some idea of the memory problem LOOK HERE
MSI manufactures (or has manufactured) motherboards for several OEMs and has an app to show what memory can be used with different processors. For example, only certain memory can be used with Intel generation 12,13, or14 and whether the CPU is a "k" model or not. If you look through the listings you might find that certain Kingston (for example) only work if they have the Hymix chipset in order for a 2400 to run at 5133 speed.
You basically have to go with what HP (Dell, etc) recommend as test their motherboards and recommend only certain memory. If you buy a system and wait several years to upgrade the memory might not be available or at a high price.
Hope this helps.
