Helping friend with Pav 590 error

W10 usb install flash will not repair. I see online suggestions for a series of mbr repairs.

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd

Not sure if I should go through this or reinstall windows.  I tried fixmbr and failed at fixboot access denied. I see tutorial on bypassing access issue. Is this the way to go?

@Ocoee1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows and you are getting BCD error.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

You can try the steps you have listed and check. However, I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when the computer was working fine.

Follow the steps in the below article to perform a system restore.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
