I have the same problem with Errors:

-- SECURITY WARNING -- ActiveHealthProperties.ini has been tampered with, resetting it

that follow this error:

-- SECURITY WARNING -- Unable to deserialize super secret file hashes. Will assume evil is afoot - all Validate() calls will return DOESNT_MATCH at HP.ActiveHealth.Commons.Security.HashStore.LoadHashesFromFile()

but my computer fails to wake after these events.  They happen when the computer (should be?) asleep but when I find the problems it is after I've been away from the computer a long time, the power light is on solid, the cooling fan is running softly, and the screen is blank.  The only way to get the computer back to operational seems to be a hard power-off/cold boot.  Computer product number 4NC66UA#ABA, HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs0xxx.

I followed the path to Create Windows 10 Installation Media, but ran it instead of saving it...Win10 installed over the top of itself and my problems resolved.  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

@DanErd

Thank you for joining the HP Community

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

    Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

     Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted, how it goes!

I regularly run Windows updates, HP Support Assistant updates, McAfee updates, MS Office updates, and updates to my other applications.  Everything is up to date.  It just started happening about a month ago.

@DanErd,

Did you know the warning on event viewer are normal and can be ignored?

Have you tried to run any test on the computer from F2?

Do you have any Anti-Virus program installed on the PC? Is it McAfee trial version which came with the computer? If so, have you tried to uninstall it and check if that helps.

Does the computer freezes or shutdown due to overheating?

If you have any unexpected shutdowns or any other issues, please give me a few details about the same along the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution: Click here for steps on finding the information we need!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Please start with a hard reset. Once the notebook is back on, follow the steps in these documents that will help you resolve the issue with the fan operating constantly.

1. HP Notebook PCs - Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly, PC is Warmer than Normal

2. HP Notebook PCs - Reducing Heat Inside the PC to Prevent Overheating

I hope to see the results of the troubleshooting.
