T520

Hi all,

I followed some articles about hptc-bios-cfg for setting up password and boot options.

I got the bios file modified manually ( boot USB disabled ) and when i want to set BIOS configuration with this file i got these errors :

---------------------------------------------------

AMISCE Utility Ver. 5.00.1048.HP V1.0.0.5 (0209)

ERROR : UEFI boot order Import error

ERROR : Setting UEFI boot order error

ERROR : Legacy boot order Import error

ERROR : Setting Legacy boot order error

- ERROR: Script file error

--------------------------------------------

See below these section syntax in file :

UEFIBootOrder =
U[01] = USB Floppy/CD Disabled
U[02] = USB Hard Drive Disabled
U[03] = UEFI: 8GB SATA Flash Drive

LegacyBootOrder =
L[01] = USB Floppy/CD Disabled
L[02] = Hard Drive
L[03] = Network Controller (Realtek PXE B01 D00)

Please tell me more about this error, the goal is to push this file through HPDM 4.7.

Thanks a lot.

From the output, I assume you are using a 3rd party tool instead of the hptc-bios-cfg.

Please try

hptc-bios-cfg -S /tmp/BIOS.txt

It's exactly the command i ran ( hptc-bios-cfg -S /tmp/BIOS.txt )

If i remove sections highlighted as ERROR from the BIOS.txt, the command ran successfully ( i set a password BIOS before with this command ) but i need to configure the USB Boot disabled.

Can you give me a file who works on your side for exemple.

Thank you

I don't have one for t520 but please find one for t530 in below screenshot (I had a problem attaching the txt itself).

You can also retrieve the sample from your unit by running below command:

hptc-bios-cfg -G /tmp/BIOS.txt

I got below information for another model.  Not sure if it is the same for T520.

Check the status of the Secure Boot setting on the target system.  You cannot update boot order information while the secure boot is set.

Maybe you can try disabling secure boot and set the boot order?
