Subject: Escalation – HP Pro Mini 260 G9 – Commit ME Failed after system board replacement

Dear HP Support,

We are experiencing a persistent issue with an HP Pro Mini 260 G9  after replacing the system board.

Case details so far:

  • Action taken: replaced the system board (twice).

  • Result: both replacement boards fail during configuration commit.

  • Error displayed: “COMMIT ME FAILED”.

  • The error persists even after driver updates and standard setup.

It appears this may be related to missing DMI / Feature Byte / MPM configuration, which cannot be committed.

Request:

  • Please advise if this requires the use of HP’s proprietary tool (HP MPM / DMI Utility) to program system information (Serial, SKU, Feature Byte).

  • Alternatively, confirm if we should return the board(s) again as DOA.

Hello @Simon318
This problem usually occurs if the DMI programming process was not done correctly/ did not complete successfully. You would need to unlock the board and redo the DMI programming.

If you need assistance in unlocking the board, please contact HP Support or send me a private message.

Hope this helps!

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
