After updating the bios on my dc7800 from v1.04 to v1.35, the ethernet controller is no longer listed in the PCI Devices list.
I would like a copy of the v1.04 bios so that I can restore to that version. Is this available anywhere? I've been unable to locate the earlier version anywhere in the HP downloads. As far as I can tell, the dc7800 doesn't have an on-board backup of the earlier version, tho I'd be happy to discover otherwise.
Alternatively, has anyone experienced this problem before, and could advise me on how to get the bios to recognise the ethernet controller?

Hi:
I have a dc7800 running W10 Pro 64 bit and BIOS v1.35 and the Intel ethernet controller is listed in the device manager, so unfortunately, I have no idea why it disappeared on you.

Your CMOS tip ultimately resolved it. I flashed with 1.04, however the bios was unhappy with that and went into bios recovery. I cleared the CMOS, reflashed back to 1.35, and happily my ethernet controller is recognised again.
Thanks very much for your help.
