@Hazberyaz, welcome to the forum.

This message is telling you that your hard drive has failed.  You can test it further by using the SMART test in the BIOS.  Here is a guide to help you.  You should replace the drive with one the same size or larger to assure that the Recovery media will work properly.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

In this context, "short" means "just a few minutes" -- not an "extensive" test, but enough testing to flag your disk-drive as "going bad".

Your disk-drive is in "imminent failure" status.  There is no way to "fix" it.

If it has any remaining "life", you should,

* purchase a new SEAGATE disk-drive,

* on some other computer, download the free SEATOOLS "disk-cloning" software, from www.seagate.com

* connect the failing disk-drive and the new disk-drive to that computer,

* run SEATOOLS to "clone" the old disk-drive, block-by-block, to the new disk-drive.

If a few blocks cannot be copied, then 99.9999 % of the blocks have been copied.

If you are "lucky", those "missing" blocks will not interfere with the running of Windows.

* connect the new disk-drive into your own computer,

* boot it up.  All your personal files & installed programs will be present.

Or, purchase a new WESTERN DIGITAL disk-drive, and download the "ACRONIS WD EDITION" disk-cloning software from www.wd.com  and then do as above.

The above method is much faster than taking an "empty" brand-new disk-drive, installing Windows, running Windows Update, installing your programs, and reloading your data files from your most-recent "backup" media.
