Hp pavillion 590-p0053w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I have not had the computer for very long.   Ithink what happened was a power outage during a windows update and then I tried to restore windows from a previous point and the computer got unplugged from the wall.

I had a 3fo error (operating system not found). Ran memory check, quick hard drive check and Hard drive check all came back passing.

Bought Hp recovery Usb and it seems to go well and when it comes time to remove usb and continue I go through a few more screens and reboots.

Eventually I come to a software installation screen that had 2 progress bars and says when complete your your system may automatically reset, please do not turn off your computer etc.

Somewhere in the middle of this screen the computer seems to re boot and then gets stuck on a black screen with the Hp log in white and black in the center.  The first time I tried this I turned the computer off after 24 hours. I tried the whole thing again and have notturned it off after 48 hours or more.   Whe I turned it off before The computer would spontaneously turn back on by itself I think......

Any help would be great,  Thanks

Chris.

Hi, Chris:

If the HP recovery media isn't working, try making your own W10 installation media and use that to reinstall W10...

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

Select Download tool now, and select Run.

If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.

On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.

Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.

Select which media you want to use:

USB flash drive. Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

Then you can reinstall the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.
